On PlayStation 5, Minecraft Bedrock consistently drops to ~10 FPS every 10–15 minutes.
This happens in:
brand new worlds
servers
even while AFK
Menus (especially Settings) start loading slowly or freezing.
The issue persists after:
reinstalling the game
restarting the PS5
lowering all graphics and render distance
Joining other players’ worlds does not always reproduce the issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Bedrock on PS5
Create a new world or join a server
Stay in-game for 10–15 minutes (even AFK)
FPS drops heavily and menus lag
Expected Result:
Stable 60 FPS and responsive menus.
Actual Result:
FPS drops to ~10, menus freeze or load slowly.

When did this start happening?
If it did not start happening just after a game update, it may be an issue with your hardware or account. Do you have any cloud save data? Does the issue occur with/without internet connection active?
This sounds like a malfunction of the “Lower Framerate When Controller Is Disconnected” option (which is currently misnamed; see MCPE-235087 for context).
This option reduces the game’s framerate to 10 FPS after one minute of inactivity with the Pause menu open, or after 15 minutes of inactivity with the Pause menu closed. When activity resumes, the framerate should return to normal.
Do you have this option enabled? If so, try disabling it. It can be found under Settings > General.
Note: This option can only be changed from the main menu, so please make sure to exit your world before checking.
This issue is being temporarily resolved as Awaiting Response. Once the requested information has been delivered, the report will be reopened automatically.
