Still affecting MCPE 0.10.4 using iPod Touch 5G running iOS 8.3.
This bug has been fixed, just tested. Use the command:
/give @p minecraft:written_book 1 0 {pages:["Fix: here"]}/give @p minecraft:written_book 1 0 {pages:["Fix: here"]}This is a VERY annoying bug. First there is a testfor bug which can't determine dropped items' ids and damages, then there is this which I can't use either. Both of these bugs cause me to completely stop progress on one of my projects. Please fix.
There is a bug with the bug tracker where "[]" won't show up, but trust me, I added them.
It's actually working for me now. It's a thing I guess, I changed my settings until they were optimized for me, and I also changed my stream server. But yeah, I don't like this bug.

Completely vanilla, mojang distributed server. It was on a whitelisted server I play on.
I should have taken it in in F5 mode to have more proof, but the body disappears in like, 3 seconds.
I was about to say something before I found this, I was looking at it, and saw that it doesn't do extra damage (At least that's what I found), but instead it just activates the sharpness particles no matter what enchantments (if any). This is quite strange to me.

Confirmed on Windows 8 running Java 7. This is quite funny actually. I spent about 2 minutes trying to chase a chicken.
I apologize for the confusion. It turns out the hopper was facing an inventory, so that's why it was doing those strange things. Either way, I fixed it, so I would like to schedule this post for deletion ASAP. Thank you!
