oh the ghast ok the zombie doesnt attack the snow golem for example if the skeleton attacks the spider it wont attack back

i confirmed that too because i tried to spawn a baby villager with a right clickable spawn egg but wouldnt spawn i have that issue too

i confirm this because when a skeleton hits a spider with an arow it wont attack the spider this works with zombies too and snow golems when they attack the spider they do not react

i might believe you even though it does but if it attacks a hostile mob even though its not close enough i think or throws the snowball at least 10 blocks it cause it too knock back
