Same with me, Im using vanilla on the 14 beta.
Invisible chests, even when placing new ones.
I cooked a few in a regular furnace, and the rest in a campfire. It might be that, but it shouldn't be splitting, right?
Its probably the chunks loading. Does it look better when you get closer?

I have the same problem, but have a logical explanation.

And if I jump on the hives they'll get angry, If I run too much near them they get angry, If I harvest the honey they get angry
