I had the same issue, what you have to do is download the realm to your worlds, then edit it, go to multiplayer, then you can turn it on/ off. Then, just re upload it to the realm

I also had this, my sister and I could see each others messages, both on iOS, but oir friends, both on PC’s couldn’t see either of our messages
