Example of a datapack which fixes this bug: https://modrinth.com/datapack/dragon-movement-fix
Please re-open this, this is not the same bug. The other one is about environmental lighting based on sunsets, this one is entirely different and is about light spots appearing underground.
Reply to Amethyst Enderdragon:
That is intentional to prevent the attack indicator from constantly showing when breaking blocks.
Works as intended

Can in fact confirm this is a byproduct of MC-272431, fixing the vertical velocity bug using a datapack reintroduces the dive attack where the dragon dives down to shoot a fireball at the player.
Blatantly a feature request, no idea how this has survived this long.
This is WAI, this behavior is consistent with switching items in the hotbar too.
Feature request, and you could already say that this is a “problem” with bows (and also crossbows in the offhand specifcially when also holding an item in the mainhand).
The spear flourishing when doing a combined jab/charge attack is intended, it’s Bedrock that has not yet implemented this animation.
Not being able to attack is WAI, as using offhand items resets the mainhand cooldown. The arm swinging is a bug though.
Issue with a ghast fireball:
I believe SlicedLime is the one who spearheaded the enchantment rewrite in 1.21 (considering all the bugs related to it were assigned to him), and would be well aware of this bug. So it’s likely it is not desired to be fixed, but if this was said publically it would obviously receive backlash so it’s been ignored instead.
