I found that you can make yellow using sunflowers, it's just the dandelions that are not working properly. Hope that helps in the meantime while we wait........
Creative mode. Cannot grow a birch from sapling. Have tried in the middle of a field with no blocks nearby, in sunlight, spammed with bonemeal.
