Happens to me too.
It seems like the further away you are the longer it takes to explode.
This isn't a duplicate. I know the podzol spread is a feature, but it shouldn't spread with an air/solid block inbetween.
i have the same issue, for my pigman farm i have to go out of the nether and back in before they spawn again. very frustrating since i spent a lot of time building it.
