its about the length of the sounds actually they are pretty long that they keep playing when you leave the dimension but ig they should do something like /stopsound @s ambient when leaving the nether
Can confirm in 1.21.8 aswell, and not only the body slot, doing the same thing for any armor slot for players results in the same thing
