Oops. I know it does not but it used to run well, and it does. I discovered that I had my CPU underclocked (down to arround 1.2GHZ).

P.S.:I think you should update your minimum requierments. I can play on normal render distance, no mipmap, no Vsync, Beautiful graphics, maximum smooth lighting, 1366x768 with comfortable framerates (almost never below 40(I know it is kinda low but I am used)). I can also play modded Minecarft 1.2.5 with 50 mods, arround the same graphic settings and arround the same framerates.

I Should also point out that my Graphics Card only has 512MB Vram. 😉

That's normal, "transparent" blocks dont let redstone do that. Try it with glowstone.
