this happened to me as well
While i was searching for a village in my world, i saw a illager patrol. didnt know what it was, and they were just looking at me, not attacking. I got a lil closer, and they start firing at me. I run away and continue on my way until i find it. Then like A MONTH LATER, im minding my own business, farming crops when a raid starts and all my villigers get slaughtered. really wierd, and im talking like a MONTH LATER IN REAL LIFE.
ive had this glitch as well, literally everything is the exact same as you described
