Tried this and died, think you are experiencing server lag or experiencing a laggy internet connection
i can confirm this as i have an animal breeder, it works up to the point where the baby cow grows up and effectively moves through blocks (may sound crazy but true). I also found that when the baby cow grows up and the chunks are still loaded the cow glitches through the blocks and you have a cow invasion/explosion.
