I have the same issue. It also says "respawn point set" whenever you try to use it. Even if you spam it during the day, your chat fills up with:
Respawn Point Set
You Can Only Sleep at Night
Respawn Point Set

(ect.)
Yeah, I agree it is really cool, but it is a bug nonetheless.
