Just wanted to add, if you see someone else wearing the pancake cape, like your friend, then your cape's elytra will go invisible, even if its not the pancake cape. when you switch it to none, load a Minecraft world, then switch back to your cape, the elytra design comes back.

Look at the left side of the first image, its like a straight line of some sort, not a natural thing to see tbh.
