I'm experiencing chronic connection drops on Xbox One ("Bedrock Edition") that match this issue description; however, only one person is affected at a time.

Configuration:

  • Xbox One (original edition), with stock controller, connected to WiFi with "Open" NAT

  • Motorolla Surfboard SB5101U cable modem, Comcast/Xfinity cable internet, apartment dwelling

  • Buffalo WZR-1750DHPD DD-WRT WiFi router

  • Cold boot of Xbox, modem, router

  • "Realms 6 Month Subscription: You + 10 Friends" verified via https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

  • "Canceled subscriptions | Gold – 12 Month" verified via https://account.microsoft.com/services/

  • Xbox Live Party Chat active with one or more persons, myself using a stock headset, audio activity cues displayed on-screen

  • One or more players in the realm

  • HDMI video only, no speakers or audio

  • Random-seed realm, Survival Mode, Easy difficulty

  • No other non-default realm settings

  • Several imported old worlds from Minecraft Xbox One Edition.

What happens:

  • Realm animation stops while my character continues to move for a short period of time

  • Xbox Live Party Chat audio cues stop displaying on-screen

  • Disconnected from realm

  • Receive message Unable to Connect to Realms for several seconds, while attempting to reconnect

  • Xbox Live Party Chat disconnects

  • After about 1-2 minutes, I am able to reconnect to my Realm and Xbox Live Party Chat

Additional Information:

  • This happens a few times an hour while playing

  • I am located in the northwestern United States, as is the person I am playing/chatting with

  • Sometimes the realm and Xbox Live Party Chat just hangs briefly, and recovers without disconnecting
