Still occurs in 1.16.210.
This bug still persists in 1.16.201. Breaking and replacing the kelp seems to temporarily fix the issue though.

Seems to only happen on worlds with the dragon defeated, yes. But I never see any orbs at spawn afterwards
I am very sure there were no orbs, especially not enough to grant upwards of 20+ levels!
Can confirm. Shields currently useless against any kind of effect projectile.
I don’t know when it was fixed but it certainly doesn’t happen anymore

I think it’s just armor in general, I’ve only encountered soul speed boots from bartering though
This is making me extremely angry, it’s getting to the point where I want to just break my PS4, sick of updates never getting tested
This is a serious issue and I’m really pissed off about it
The crashes seem to only happen if you were signed in to Xbox Live then opening the game without an Internet connection
I am unable to provide any screenshots because I can’t move them from my Xbox One to my PC because I don’t have an external hard drive, and no I wasn’t using any resource/behaviour packs (I am also unable to access the beta on my PC due to having only a Celeron and that won’t let me download the insider app)
