Steps to Reproduce:
Launch Minecraft Preview on Windows.
Load into any world (Survival or Creative).
Apply a potion effect to the player (e.g., drink a Night Vision potion or use the command /effect @s night_vision 1000).
Play the game normally for a session (the issue appears to occur randomly during gameplay).
Observe the right side of the HUD where effect icons normally appear.
Observed Results:
The potion effect icons on the right side of the screen disappear completely. I know the effects are still active because I can see the particle effects (squiggly lines) and if I press 'Z' (or open the inventory), the effects are listed there. This happens even with no resource packs or add-ons installed.
Expected Results:
The potion effect icons should remain visible on the HUD on the right side of the screen for the entire duration of the effect.
Thank you for your time.
The issue was fixed.
Improved Input Response is greyed out for me. I’m not sure why, but it could be because I use a keyboard and mouse. Or because I always play with Vibrant Visuals turned on, and they might be incompatible with one another. So, for me it is off by default.
It was with Vibrant Visuals. The UWP-GDK transition, was a painful one, but I get it. Refinement takes time; it was upsetting that what happened, happened. But this is Preview, it is meant for testing the latest, but potentially buggy features. I appreciate you listening to the community.
FPS drops in different areas; I had a an FPS drop to 35 FPS then it immediately went back to 180FPS. I played with the Favor Visuals preset (24-chunks).
My specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X
RAM: 48Gb G.Skill
GPU: GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16Gb
SSD: Samsung EVO 990
As for the latest version release; I believe the issue was indeed fixed, however, there are a few caveats. While in version 1.21.120.21 I experienced graphical glitches where the loading screen would flicker. When I tried updating to 1.21.120.22 with the Microsoft Store, it updated, the game would start up and would show a loading screen; but, the game would never start, followed by an immediate crash. I had to uninstall the game and reinstall. I loaded my world, the flickering loading screen disappeared, and the world no longer crashes. However, 1.21.120.22 still sees large amounts of lag spikes. I will still keep an eye on the past frequent crashes, it could still have that issue. Thank you for acknowledging, I appreciate you reaching out. I will submit a copy of my world soon. Although, that might not be relevant if the issue was fixed.
The potion effects themselves didn’t matter because the entire section for displaying them was missing. The icons were supposed to be located in the top right corner of the screen, but it was as if I didn’t have any potion effects, even though my character did. Regarding picture-video evidence, I could attempt to attach a file, but I omitted this detail from my initial report. I doubt I’ll be able to provide it.
