When switching back to default I got insomniac_lemon's problem: the items were blurry
I can reproduce it in 1.4.7! Clearly something's wrong
I had this problem too and it's a PITA. Maybe change it to a block like signs?
Possible relation to Z-fighting when the beacon is held?
