Please fix it/find a working workaround that'll refresh the skin without an external tool. It's really annoying and if it'll be fixed it'll open more possibilities with commands.

but the water bottle doesn't turn into an empty bottle, as like the honey bottle
you need to shoot throw mob and then you not able to pickup the arrow
that is not the same issue
if you do F3 while looking to the air, the game while not crashed and you can still see descreption about blocks

You can add that while it turns on if you hit a mob which stands on it with a channeling trident it does power, while it doesn't when hit directly
