I've managed to accidentally set up a campfire it a good spot so the crush of golems eventually forced them on to the fire. So know my overpopulation is a significant source of infinite iron.
Yeah, my current count is at 20 golems to 38 villagers. Glad they haven't been as aggressive as previous versions. When I've accidentally hit a golem only the one golem attacked me. Though it was handy to have them all swarm around me to protect me from phantoms 😛
