I am having this exact issue happen on our realm, i am not the owner, but i fought 2 additional dragons and the new gateways do not teleport me, just suffocate me inside the gateway.
I dont believe its every time, i get drops occasionally from them and sometimes drowned with nothing in hand drop stuff.
