Can confirm this still persists on Windows 10 1.13.1

I've tried lighting it on various surfaces as suggested by some, but this didn't change anything. There are also no walls behind or in front of the portal. This happens travelling both directions to the overworld and to the nether.

So when does v1.15 come out? It's all very well to say this is resolved by something in the future but for normal people that's not a fix!

The issue is still an issue for me until some unknown point.

I've started a new issue at MC-164781 if you want to comment in there with me

I agree this is still unresolved I am getting fed up of being stuck in the boat when I'm trying to exit. Particularly as I play hardcore and have died once as I was being attacked and couldn't move.

I've had the same issue with purpur blocks for a very long time now. After the 1.9 update the 'silk touched' stack was renamed to the file name "com.minecraft.purpur" or something like that

Still present in 1.8.0. My first portal functions correctly, but any new portals just leave me trapped inside.

I opened the world in an editor. The coordinates for the exit portal just read 0 0 0 instead of somewhere in the outer islands.

For me the world coordinates (X,Z) stayed the same from the overworld to the nether and did not divide by 8 as it normally should.

Tested it further, /summon minecraft:zombie ~ ~ ~ {IsBaby:0} actually does guarantee that it won't be a baby (while normally there's a small chance that it will be), which is further evidence that this is a bug.

also with same problem on Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan, stopped working straight after recent launcher was installed.

also having this issue, was playing fine, went to lunch, new launcher and now stuck at preparing. Mac OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan

the /effect command doesn't support negative potion effects, which are what I'm trying to work with

If you can't use negative values, doesn't that mean you can only use cubic areas in one-fourth of the world? Please change this. thx
