It is not fixed in 0.14.2
I have not had it happen to me in 0.12.1
I was mining near bedrock when i saved and spawned on the surface. That is what happened to me.
I closed to the title screen to play a different world, When I went back to my survival world my inventory was empty.
This still affects 0.14.3
