I reported this same issue a couple weeks ago, and so far no one has said or done anything to resolve it.
64x64 resolution and above
I also tried doing the following (didn’t work)
~ rebooting my phone
~ signing out of Xbox & signing back in
~ reinstalling Minecraft
My friends also can’t join my world. Hope this gets resolved soon.
I’m currently playing Minecraft version 1.7.0 & this issue has not been resolved.
I’m using an iPhone 6 Plus.
When my sister updated Minecraft on 8/7/2018 to version 1.5.3, I was hoping this issue would've been resolved. Although it hasn't still. My sister plays Minecraft on her Samsung Galaxy S7.

You can't get more "descriptive" than that...
sigh
So far, I've used the Cartoon Texture Pack from Minecraft, as well as the Faithful Texture Pack (not from Minecraft). Although I think this may be a problem that affects any texture pack.

This is a known bug on android and iOS devices. Let’s hope this gets resolved soon.
