I am not sure if this in an intended feature or a bug, but when I host a single player world, then port forward to that world to make it an external server, so friends can connect to it via Ip and Port (not Xbox live). When I enter the IP and Port, the server does not display the name of the player or the world name, when I join it connects to the world, but it will quickly say done, then get stuck on “loading resources” forcing me to reboot the game.
What I expected to happen was
Either the world name, or the name of the player to show on the server I just entered in the servers tab and when I join the world, it connects me to the world with no issues.
what actually happened was
When I enter the ip and port to the world, neither the world name or the player name shows up, and when I join it will quickly say “done” and get stuck on a screen with an arrow pointing to a chest saying “loading resources” forcing me to reboot the game. There is no way to connect to the world because it happens every time, sometimes the world will show in my lan and not in the servers tab, even when I am not connected to the same network as the host
How to reproduce
Load up a single player world on any device
On a different device, click “add server” and enter the local IP address of the device running the world and for the port use 19132.
connect to the server you just added
This is still an issue in the latest version (1.16.200) but instead of getting stuck on loading resources forever, it says “Wow, this server is popular, please try again when space opens up” There is only 1/8 players on the world.
