[WAI] Campfire particle effects inconsistent

Placing glass* directly on a campfire allows the smoke to rise, which doesn't make sense. Placing glass* one block above the campfire traps the smoke, as would be expected. But placing glass* on another glass block already on a campfire will cause some particles to jitter before fading away. No more smoke particles are generated.

*Probably happens with other blocks as well.

Blocks placed directly above the campfire can pass smoke and it is a known behavior for some time now. From what I've gathered it is a WAI. Blocks placed higher than that, properly block smoke particles from rising. Closing.
