I was running around in my achievement world looking for wolves to tame for the Leader of the Pack achievement and I kept seeing movement on the edges of my screen. It took me a few minutes to realize that what I was seeing were snow layers on the ground disappearing.
According to the wiki, this happens in dry biomes. I was in a cold taiga forest. That's not a dry biome. Granted, the core section of this world, where my base is, was created before the TU31 update, so before the way biomes generate was changed and the new types of stone and soil were added, but it should still be a cold biome and the snow should not be melting there.

Vanishing completely. I noticed because I was standing still looking for wolves to tame and I could see green patches of grass appearing where there had been snow. Even where it had been several layers thick it would just disappear all at once.
I don't think the wiki has been updated yet to reflect the fact that some biomes can get both rain and snow at different altitudes (the higher you go, the colder it is). It may be that some taiga biomes aren't actually freezing at Y=72 now, so snow will melt at lower levels. We need the developers to weigh in on whether this is true.
It always snowed in that biome. It was a snow forest. Then I synced it to the Bedrock Edition and now it's raining and the snow is disappearing.
Well, if it's raining I would expect the snow to disappear because it must be above freezing. I suspect it's what I suggested above, but we'll have to let a developer verify. Since it might be altitude related, we should try to find out what Y level you were at. Would you mind checking that please?
Didn't have the coords turned on when I was playing today but it's around Y=68 at or near the lowest points with hills reaching higher.
Has biome generation changed so much that a biome where it always snowed until this latest edition has suddenly changed into a non-snowy biome? Shouldn't it have stayed a snow biome if that's what it generated as?

Was the snow disappearing completely, or were the snow layers just reducing/resetting?
