Death screen no longer fades in

Previously, when Screen Animations is turned on, Death screen would fading in, creates a smooth transition between screens, this is no longer the case in the latest preview.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Enable Screen Animations: Settings > Video > Screen Animations

2. Join any worlds with gamemode set to survival and cheats turned on, and then run this command: /tp @s 0 ~25 0 0 0

3. Observe

Expected results:
Death screen fading in.

Observed results:
Death screen immediately appears.
