When you place lava in the ground and cover it with blocks it catches the blocks above the block covering it on fire
Also I'm using the amazon fire tablet 5th gen running fire is 5.1.4 and those screen shots where taken while I was using toolbox however it happens in vanilla Minecraft pe too

This issue works as intended. Lava acts similarly to fire, and as the wiki states
Blocks in the way will not prevent fire from igniting blocks above it—so even if you protect your wooden roof with cobblestone between it and the fire, the fire will completely ignore that cobblestone.

I cannot reproduce this bug on vanilla by trying to duplicate what I can see in your screenshots. Tested on Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920W8), Android 5.1.1 MCPE 0.15.3. Please provide basic steps for how you would produce this in vanilla MCPE in a creative flat single player world.
