Maybe its not a bug,but I did it 3x with the same result.

Placing blocks under,(trying to update the area),but nothing.

Then it disappears, after 15-20 seconds.

Steps to Reproduce:

 watch the video.

OR

Go to the End.

Find a place at least 10 block above ground.

put a water bucket, destroy the water stream with any block.

Look if the water goes away.

Observed Result: the water remain there for more than 10 seconds.

Expected Result: the water should go away.

I've seen this when cleaning up water spills in void words in 1.16.40. In my case, I think the glitched floating water is usually client-side only, because if I look away long enough and then look back it is usually gone. I can't tell from the videos if that is the same thing happening in the 1.16.200.55 beta or not. It could be related to the water flowing off into the void creating so many updates or pending ticks, just like in my void test worlds.

In my case:

Steps to reproduce

  1. Place a water source.

  2. Allow flowing water to spread from the source over a large area and downward dozens of blocks into the void.

  3. Eliminate the source water.

Observed Result

The flowing water gradually disappears block by block starting from where the source was.

Expected Result

Some of the water does not disappear when it should. It does disappear if you look away and then back, or fly away and then back, or reload the world.

Device: Windows 10 PC

It might depend of the device, so could you please add model and OS version?
