Honestly don't know what affects version it is I can't open the program.
Since last week about 12 Jan 2026 my Minecraft launcher stopped working. It kept saying “cannot connect to Minecraft services” and “Unable to verify products owned” and if I was able to click the PLAY button my whole PC froze and I had no choice but to force a shutdown and not shut it down correctly/safely.
Last week I submitted a report here and was told it is a Microsoft/Xbox issue, and my report was set to resolved (it was NOT resolved, thank you)
I tried every troubleshooting option short of resetting my OS. None of it works. Uninstalled/reinstalled (from all 3 sources)/repaired/reset); Minecraft.net/MicrosoftStore/XboxApp, all say I own it and if I try to repurchase it still says I own it and prompts me to redownload.
Now though my launcher does not even open, it loads to 4% and crashes. I even spoke to Xbox support just before coming here again. Screenshots are provided. They explained that they have no issues on their end and that what I've explained (and have seen multiple reports of the same since my initial one) that this is a Minecraft issue not a Microsoft.
What is strange is that the Minecraft Launcher is used to open and run Java and Bedrock, if I’m not mistaken. But “Minecraft for Windows” is also Bedrock Edition?
“Minecraft for Windows” is the only one I can open and run. I only ever played on Java; maybe like an hour on bedrock(?) when I first installed back in March 2025. I've lost all my progress.

No I cannot provide logs I no longer have it on my pc. If an actual person could read this and actually give us a response other then constantly telling me to troubleshoot over and over and over and over again that would be fantastic.
Otherwise I’m waiting on my refund
I would appreciate it if you’d stop setting this to “Resolved” when it has NOT been resolved.
I redownloaded to see if the logs were still available.
Still waiting on a reply for my refund.

@Andre Borges - We set reports to ‘awaiting response' when we have asked you a question and we are waiting for you to respond, this is why it says ‘resolved’, but it’s resolved as ‘awaiting response’.
Any luck on figuring out why I'm unable to run the program?
Microsoft is no help; their support is just a circle of Ai prompts.
