Observed:
When using a texture pack to make the locator bar background invisible, the experience bar is not visible behind it. Instead there is just an empty space between the hotbar and the health/hunger icons, except for the player locator icons and arrows being rendered in it.
Expected:
That the experience bar would be visible, with the locator bar icons drawn over the top. The shared shape and position of the locator and experience bars leads to the intuition that the experience bar is “behind” the locator bar, and so would be expected to be visible if the locator bar is partially or fully transparent, similar to when it is disabled entirely.
Environment
Windows 11 Pro (Version 23H2)
Minecraft Java Edition - Snapshot 25w15a
LAN World (with multiple players)
Locator Bar experimental feature enabled
Resource Pack with assets\minecraft\textures\gui\sprites\hud\locator_bar_background.png as a fully transparent texture (see attached)

This behavior seems intended to me. It’s already expected that the experience level number does not render unless it is needed so it makes sense that the same logic applies to the experience level progress counter (i.e. experience bar) as well.
This does not describe a bug, but rather a feature request.
