There is an item issue with the enchanting table

This was on mc-creative, a free build creative server. I was using the enchanting table there to enchant a diamond pick. The problem was that when I tried using a bucket of milk and clicked on the diamond pick that was placed in the slot of the enchanting table, after a few times it became a diamond pick! Only after some time did it turn back into a bucket of milk
