I am unable to join multiplayer servers whenever I open up my Minecraft and the error that pops up says "invalid session" and that I "failed to connect to the server"

This has been happening to me as well, I tried contacting support and they did nothing and told me to open a bug report.
I have tried reinstalling the game multiple times, logging off and logging in, and even tried to play in a friend's house with a completely different computer and network (in which their account works) and nothing worked and the error continues to happen.
It seems like this is a larger-scale problem right now, see MC-271965. I'm linking this bug report to that one so that we can collect all reports together.
As the error message says, try restarting your launcher (ensure that all launcher windows are closed). You may also want to log out of your account in the launcher and log back in, or completely restart your computer.
If none of these work, please contact Community Support for assistance and refer to this ticket by providing a link. If they cannot find the issue, please file a new bug report in the MCL project. Thank you!
