Ok so I was messing around with piglins in my creative Mincraft world and I wanted to know how many piglins were needed to kill the wither skeleton. Then for no obvious reason, I tried giving effects to mobs. I tried poisoning a wither skeleton and it didn’t work.
How to reproduce:
/gamemode 1
/summon wither_skeleton
/effect @e [type=wither_skeleton] poison 30 1
Observed results: The wither skeleton doesn’t get poisoned.
Expected results: The wither skeleton does get poisoned.

There is a ticket for posion not working on zombies. MCPE-9675. I think, this ticket should then be marked as a duplicate of that.
Thank you for your report!

This is not a bug, its an intended feature. All undead mobs such as Zombies, Skeletons, Phantoms, Zoglins, Husks, Strays, Drowneds, Zombified Piglins, and Wither Skeletons are immune to poison. This is how it works in the Java edition as well.
