For the past few weeks I have been trying to sign in with my Microsoft account in Minecraft on my PS4. I always get a “failed to login” error saying “We tried to sign you in to your Microsoft Account, but something went wrong.”

I would argue that my issue is different than the one you linked, because I was never able to get the sign in to work, while Mega_Spud has everything work the first time he launched the application.
David, that wasn't the right report anyway. I have changed it to MCPE-58464. Please check whether you think that one is appropriate, and if not we'll think about whether to reopen this report as a different bug.
