Updating to any new version causes everything to be removed or forgotten

I am bringing to you a problem I have had for a while now. It seems that everytime Minecraft updates, it just hate everything I do, because it removes everything I've done during the update before.

This includes;

Worlds, Ports, Settings, Account and Texture/ Behaviour packs.

I don't want to keep having to right things that should save automatically, it's inconvenient and shows me my worlds mean nothing when a new update comes. It's infuriating and has been happening since November of last year.
