I have been playing minecraft for years. I want to say the first version I played, or the first I remember playing, was JAVA 1.4.7. I am enamored with this game, and it holds a special place in my life that I don't have words to describe. While shader packs, texture packs, other video altering features are fine for some, maybe even most, given that I've played so long and have autism… This whole vibrant visuals update feels like cold, wet, and sandy socks somewhere deep down in my being. It's a nagging bother that I struggle to put into words.
Having given this background, I'd like to voice my concerns and frustrations. I'm fairly sure that this is a bug, I'm hopeful that it is, and I'm hopeful someone cares enough to fix this, because it has made the game difficult to enjoy for the two of us.
Every time I start the game, my visuals setting is reset to vibrant visuals. Every single time. If I log out of my profile but leave the PlayStation running, it's a game of chance whether or not it'll remember that I changed my video settings. If it doesn’t, it'll be reset to vibrant. My significant other and I play splitscreen. Every single time she enters the game, she has to re-enter her preferred field of view settings, as well as her custom controls. Every single time she leaves the game, it resets the visuals to vibrant visuals.
I would like the ability to chose whether or not I use an “optional” shader, and I would like the ability to select a setting and that setting actually mean something, anything at all. It is changed to vibrant without my consent nor my action, and constantly having to change it back has become so irritating that we've considered giving up on the game until it's fixed, if it is ever fixed. It would also be a delight if my partner was able to change her controller's layout, and that layout not be forcibly changed again back to the default, again without any action taken.
It has not always been like this, and as for the two of us, if it remains unresolved, we will have to quit playing this game we bond over and greatly enjoy. We hope you understand why this is so bothersome.
Please fix the way these settings work.
