Ever since Minecraft got the shaders update, online games are nearly unplayable. The lag is so persistent and severe, and people in chat will constantly bring up how the lag is making their gameplay unbearable too - so I know it’s not an issue with my personal device/game. I usually play online games on the server CubeCraft (Block Wars, Bed Wars, etc.) which is where this issue occurs. I’m hoping that in the future I can play normally again without the awful amount of freezing and lagging. Thank you!

However, this issue is Invalid.
Simply stating that "My game is laggy" is not helpful for Mojang to diagnose your issue. If you can pinpoint a specific cause when lag happens for you, please open a new report for that specific issue. If you think this might be a hardware issue please contact Community Support as they might be able to help with your issue.
Note also that simply playing the game provides feedback to Mojang on which parts cause performance issues.
