Giant Mushrooms do not grow in certain situations despite having sufficient space to do so, unless nearby blocks are destroyed and replaced

Summary:
In certain situations, Giant Mushrooms fail to grow when bone mealed, even though there is sufficient space for them to grow. They will only grow after nearby blocks are destroyed and then replaced, despite the available space remaining unchanged.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Download the provided .mcworld file.

  2. Import the world into Minecraft and open it.

  3. Teleport to the provided coordinates: /tp -15.59 82.00 185.37

  4. Attempt to grow the Red Mushroom into a Giant Mushroom using bone meal.

  5. Observe that it does not grow.

  6. Destroy and replace the blocks shown in the video.

  7. Attempt to grow the Red Mushroom again using bone meal.

Observed Results:
After destroying and replacing the nearby blocks, the mushroom successfully grows despite the amount of free space being identical to the previous attempt.

Expected Results:
The mushroom should grow without requiring nearby blocks to be destroyed and replaced.
