The bug
Copper golems correctly age even while not loaded and ticking. That is to say, you can spawn a copper golem, leave the area, then visit it later to find it aged. However, it will only be aged by one oxidation stage in this case. Loading the golem is required to advance to the next stage and restart the timer. This is contrary to the Java Edition behavior, where copper golems can properly age through any stage while unloaded.
How to reproduce
Download and open the attached world. It modifies copper golems to age every 10 seconds.
Press the button to spawn a copper golem and start a timer.
Immediately fly away until the timer stops increasing, indicating the golem is unloaded.
Wait for a full minute.
Fly back to the copper golem.
Expected behavior
It should be fully oxidized
Observed behavior
Itβs only on the second oxidation stage (exposed)
