The bug
When a named copper golem becomes a statue, its name is supposed to be preserved. When mining it, the name should appear as the custom name of the item. Likewise, renaming a golem statue and placing it should result in a custom name for the golem entity when scraped. This currently does not work.
How to reproduce
Item → golem
Get a copper golem statue
Rename it in an anvil
Place it
Use an axe on it
Golem → item
Spawn a copper golem
Use a name tag on it
Wait for it to turn into a statue
Mine the statue with a pickaxe
Expected result
(Item → golem): The golem entity should have the same name that you gave the item
(Golem → item): The statue item should have the same name that you gave the golem
Observed result
The golem entity and statue items have no name
Notes
The custom name of the golem is actually preserved in the item stack. That is, if you name a golem, wait for it to turn into a statue, mine it, place it, and scrape it, the golem will have its original name. The bug is that the custom name of the item is not considered in this process, in either direction.
