I updated my world which had about 600 days played to the newest Happy Ghasts update. When I loaded into the world it said it was only day 342 and some small parts of the world were corrupted. I tried forcing a cloud sync by deleting local data and when I first went on Minecraft the world said it was 400mb but after going on it (it still was on day 342) and leaving it showed it was only 150mb. I do play with an attached storage device but I always have it plugged in. There is also only one set of saved data for my account and I haven’t played the world on another system.

I have the same issue. My world with 1100+ days was reverted back to ~650 days after the update. It also for some reason duplicated my game so that I had a copy both on internal and my external hard drive. I thought I had managed to salvage the world by looking at the pre-update files on my external which was around 1.1 GB but as with yours it reverted to the ~450MB 650 day version after loading it up. It might also be worth noting that I haven't been able to sync with the cloud for a while now but my game was saved (along with multiple backups that have all disappeared) on local storage.
