No sound when ravager destroys sea turtle egg

Summary:

The sound of a sea turtle egg breaking does not play when the ravager breaks it.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Spawn a ravager in an enclosed area.

  2. Place some sea turtle eggs next to it.

  3. Lure the ravager and make it walk on the eggs.

Observed results:
The egg breaking sound doesn't play.

Expected results:
The egg produces a sound when broken.

Notes:

It seems like turtle eggs can be broken instantly by ravagers when they walk towards it, similar to plants (as can be observed by the four eggs being destroyed instantly). That's why the sound doesn't play. If the ravager happens to step on it and break it normally, the sound will be played properly.

I can confirm! However, I want to clarify an important thing!

Notes:
The ravager must step on the egg himself. Ie it won't work if you spawn ravager on an egg. He will be able to break it with sound, and then go and destroy it already without sound.

And occasionally he can break an egg with a sound.

The reason for this bug is the following line in the vanilla resources sounds.json, in the section for "block_sounds", subsection "turtle_egg", sub-subsection "events"

"break" : { "sound": ""                             , "volume" : 1.0, "pitch" : [0.8, 1.0]}  ,
"break" : { "sound": ""                             , "volume" : 1.0, "pitch" : [0.8, 1.0]}  ,

You can fix the bug by inserting block.turtle_egg.break inside the quotation marks after "sound":. Then it will match the analogous line in the "individual_events" section.

Unfortunately, fixing this bug makes MCPE-119546 worse. But that is a bug in its own right (a hard-coded one from what I can tell) and not reason to not fix this one.

Please note that this is not the same as Working as Intended, as this bug report correctly describes behavior in the game that might not be the intended or desirable behavior, but it will not be fixed right now. Sometimes, this is because the issue reported is minor and/or impossible to change without large architectural changes to the code base.
