Linux: "Open Game Dir" fails and throws exception

When clicking on the Open Game Dir button under Edit Profile or New Profile, following exception is thrown (The directory in question does exists):

That's quite the stack trace. It looks like a directory permissions issue, but someone more qualified may have to weigh in on that.

Can confirm on Ubuntu linux.

It looks like that there are missing one or two slashes in the uri: file:/home/azatoth/.minecraft/ vs. file:///home/azatoth/.minecraft/

Yea looking at my now bug report (now a dupe) MC-40536 I can see in my log its the same issue, a missing / .

Confirmed still a problem in 1.4.4. Attached is the crash debug. Still missing the / from file:// .

Looks like this was fixed at some point. Issue no longer occurs for me.
