Minecarts, /give, and /setblock

When I use /give @p minecart, the command works just fine. But when I use /setblock 156 6 869 minecart, the command block yields "There is no such item with name minecart." Is this a glitch, or is /setblock not supposed to yield minecarts? (If it matters, this command does indeed place it on top of a rail.)
