[MC-3941] Minecraft Crashes When Nether Portals are one of the layers In Superflat

In the presets of my Minecraft Superflat, a Nether portal was one of
the layers, and when I entered the portal, Minecraft crashed.

Well i tried creating a superflat world with the portal block (90), and going through it, and it worked fine.

Cannot confirm, please attach a crash report, because the problem may be a stack overflow from portals updating and realising they are not meant to be there.
