Super Secret settings does nothing / Shaders don't work

In past 1.7 snapshots, the "Super Secret Settings" did nothing at all, except make random sounds when clicking on it. In snapshot 13w38a though, the latest snapshot, clicking on it is supposed to change the graphic settings like turn the game upside down, or invert it, or turn it white and black or even crazier things. I have seen youtube videos of it and what is supposed to happen when clicking on Super Secret Settings. But when I click on it, all I get is a random sound effect, nothing happens to the graphics at all.

Did you change the setting while in a single or multiplayer game? Nothing will happen at the menu.

To solve:

  • Stop Minecraft & Launcher

  • Delete .minecraft/assets and .minecraft/versions/13w38a/

  • Restart Launcher

  • Files will be downloaded

  • "Super secret settings" will work

Didnt work. And I changed it in single player.

since you didn't seem to want it in my own bug report, my manual crash report is enclosed

Dinnerbone there has to be a way to get intergrated graphics to do shaders.

You can check by yourself if your graphics hardware is capable of running shader program, simply look at the output of the snooper - if you see more "false" than "true" at the gl_caps (see screenshot), then your hardware will probably not be capable.

Are you really saying laptops aren't for Minecraft, Mojang?

I'm not Mojang, but of course are laptops able to run Minecraft. But dont't expect a 300 € netbook to have the same perfomance as a 1500 € gaming laptop.
