ALT-TAB in fullscreen causes windows to flip back and forth rapidly [Linux Mint]

Occasionally, when attempting to ALT-TAB to a different window, Minecraft will fail to properly switch the focus and remain on screen, flickering whenever an action is performed. The rest of the desktop environment can be used without problems. Attempting to ALT-TAB back into Minecraft does not work, neither does attempting to click inside the window, or on the taskbar. Hitting F11 to make it windowed does not work either.

To reproduce, open the game in Linux and attempt to ALT-TAB. It doesn’t happen all the time and I can’t figure out why it does sometimes and other times it doesn’t. You should lose control of the game as seen in the attached video (though this was taken after I had already hit ALT-TAB).

The expected result is a flawless transition to another window, as you would expect from the ALT-TAB feature.

Note: I am running this game through Prism Launcher with no mods, but this issue also occurs when using the default launcher.

Environment

Operating system: Linux Mint 22.3, Cinnamon Edition

This sounds like a problem with the computer itself. Sadly, I don’t fully understand any of the Linux distributions or how they work. I can tell it’s your computer doing this considering it does the exact same thing with both Prism and Minecraft launchers, but just in case I’m wrong, you could try other free launchers and see if they have the exact same result. If you need to, you might need to consult someone who specializes in Linux systems to fully figure out the problem as well as fix it.
