Attribute armor

I applied netherite armor values to trimed gold armor via these commands:

But the armor bar didn't show the correct amount of armor, and I took more damage when hit as I did when wearing the equivalent of netherite armor. If I put on the helmet, the armorbar shows the correct amount of armor. But Once I put on another piece of armor, the armor bar only shows the armor value of the last equipped piece. If any of the pieces is unequipped, the armor bar disappears, even if the other pieces are still equipped (screenshots).
